Naomi Silva is the owner of the eponymous fine art gallery, which opened in 2001 in the Tula Art Center, Buckhead, Atlanta. The gallery represents nationally and internationally recognized, mid-career and established visual artists.

Although not exclusive to the work of Latin American and Mediterranean artists, the gallery established itself in Atlanta in hopes of creating a venue where the general public would be exposed to the diversity and sophistication of Latin American Art through the offering of continuous representation of its artists, filling a much needed void.

Naomi began her professional career in the fine art market in Chicago. Initially a photo stylist for photographers, she went on to represent commercial photographers and film production houses, and later worked as a producer and salesperson for Quicksilver, a multi media and special effects house. She attended the Harrington Institute of Design in Chicago and later studied Photography at the Southeastern Center for the Arts in Atlanta.

She relocated to Atlanta to establish a Southeast Division of Quicksilver, and then went on to represent commercial photographers such as Neil Higgins, Don Sparks, Stephan Findel, and Ford Smith.  She later included designers, film production houses and illustrators, to become one of the top commercial art representatives in Atlanta.

The gallery, located in the Tula Arts Center, has created a reputation for representing the work of artists with inventive conceptual and distinctive visions.  Accomplishing this through their unique juxtaposition of techniques and mediums, these artists are pioneers of their discipline.

This has best been exhibited by the representation, throughout the years, of a very diverse group of photographers.  Featured works have included the large digital photographs by renowned designer, Vicente Wolf, taken during his travels throughout Asia; photographs by the Colombian photographer, Leo Matiz, of Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera during his stay in Mexico in the 70’s; pieces by the internationally recognized sculptor and photographer, Patrizia Guerresi; Luciana Abait’s contemporary Swimming Pools; and Italian photographer Ezio Todesco’s mannequin studies.  The gallery’s inaugural show featured the photography of Guillermo Kahlo, Frida Kahlo’s nephew.

IRevelar is born from Naomi’s passion for the art of photography.  She has served as a guest juror on several occasions and recently juried Atlanta Photography Group’s
“In Your Dreams” exhibit, which she also curated in 2006.

The gallery has decided to place a much stronger emphasis on the photographic arts and the Irevelar competition is the first of many steps to this process.

The gallery is currently creating an exciting online endeavor which is due to be announced shortly.
